8 reasons why you should try slackline

Hey. It’s me – your future slackline.

Traveller, hiker, the discoverer. Athlete, amateur, soul of the party.

Whatever you want.

I like beaches, forests, parks, city centres.

A quiet encounters with nature and streets stuffed with passers-by.

Spring, summer, autumn, winter.

ADHD. Balance.

Not bad for the webbing, right?

I count a dozen meters long and the days until you’ll take me off the store’s shelf.

It’s boring here!

Let me introduce you 8 reasons why you should try me:

1. I SPREAD THE ENERGY / GUARANTEE FUN

Yes. I’m just a webbing. But with so much energy! Hung me between the trees, try to stand up and … Feel it! With each step you will feel more and more … I will make you jump, fall (soon to arise) and fill with endorphins you’ve never had before!

2) I AM NOT DIFFICULT…

…But completely opposite! I brought up in the spirit of simplicity. The first day we’ll meet you’ll be able to make the first steps – even if it seems much more complicated. With a little help maybe you will make my whole length? Have a try!

3) I WILL SHAPE YOUR CHARACTER

I am stubborn. And something tells me that you too. I stubbornly hang between the trees, you stubbornly walk on me. Stubbornly you fall, stubbornly try to continue. Stubbornly lengthen the time spent together, stubbornly making progress. And one day you just realize – it all paid off!

4) IT WILL BE COLOURFUL

Have I mentioned no time of the year is an obstacle? I like spring, when everything comes to life, green grass and sun in the middle of summer, yellow autumn leaves preparing the ground before the white Miss winter. Do You too? It’s time to join forces!

5) I’LL SHOW YOU NEW PLACES (BTW I AM COMPACT!)

I require walks like any slack. You can walk me to your favourite places as well as explore new ones. Yesterday – forest, tomorrow – beach, what the day after? Perhaps the mountains? And all my compactness. You can take me anywhere an simply unfold. I am ready for suggestions!

6) YOU WILL MEET INTERESTING PEOPLE (OR PETS)

I am sociable. I draw the attention of passers-by (dogs and cats too!), start conversation. The more public the place, the more new friends we’ll make. Many countries organize slackline festivals – (to find out more visit) which is even better to socialize! Not to mention social media groups. And all because of me, you see?

7) YOU WILL BE FIT

Yes. Slackline is a pretty good workout! If you don’t believe me now I will remind you the next day after our first session! Or rather sores on each particle of your body will do. What did I do yesterday? Mountains? Climbing? Cycling? Nah… just a walk on slackline…

8) YOU WILL CRAVE FOR MORE

You must know that I have a pretty big family. At some point, you’ll probably want to meet my brothers: highline, longline or trickline (a few words about them here). That’s fine by me. Meet them – maybe we can even organize something together? Adventure awaits!

So what do you say… Did I convince you that slackline is worth to try?

Because, you know … I’m still in the store.

Will you help?

Looks like fun! I have seen some students around my campus doing this and I always wondered if it was difficult! I may have to give it a try next time…

Ha ha great post! My first slackline was in the beach bars on Tonsai beach in Thailand. Will never forget that whirlwind love affair! Have had more great times since as well 🙂

When we first started slacklining it wasn’t really popular, now there are more and more people doing it. Hope you’ll be the one! 🙂

What a great hobby! I tried it in Thailand but was so bad at it! I didn’t know it was such a good workout.

I have never tried this before, but can you really end up doing it? I would be scared of falling of all the time. You seem to have had a lot of fun with the slackline!

Yes, it is fun! And you fall all the time, but not from high 🙂 When you start slackline is usually not higher than your knee so it is quite safe (of course it’s better if you do some warming up before), but you can try even with calf high – just shorten the distance. Whatever works for you 🙂

Oh wow never knew slackline could be so much fun. I would love to try it 🙂 I actually saw one at a camping site in Thailand but with no prior experience or skills, I didn’t try it.
